A Taste of Chicago - Human Puppets?

East of the area with the food booths is the area of Grant Park that adjoins the lakefront. From one of the last booths, where my two librarian companions were sampling grilled asparagus, I looked past Buckingham Fountain to a field where I saw these shapes "floating" above the crowd. I assumed they were giant puppets when I went in for a closer look. I didn't expect them to be people!

Here you can see a little bit of how it works. A brace goes up the guys' pantlegs and the girls' hoop skirts.
